Insight Meditation: The Convergence of Wisdom and Love

Wisdom and love, cultivated on the spiritual path, are sometimes referred to as the two wings of a bird. Both are needed. Both can be developed over time and with practice.

In this silent retreat we will explore complementary practices that cultivate both “wings” of wisdom and love. We’ll spend each day practicing mindfulness, developing sustained awareness of our moment-to-moment experience. Once our minds settle, we can start to see more clearly into ourselves which helps us access our own inner wisdom. Simultaneously, throughout this retreat we will learn specific practices that deliberately cultivate the warmth of kindness and compassion for ourselves and the world. As these two “wings” mature, we see more clearly, love more fully, and so much goodness unfolds.
